Yesterday we made Piccalilli for the first time ever!
It looks really pretty and is packed full of cauliflower, beans, courgette, yellow tomatoes, carrots and they are smothered in a mustard and turmeric sauce. Actually it also has honey, vinegar and sugar along with some corn flour! We have to wait to see what it tastes like as you should leave it for a few weeks for the flavours to improve. I am not convinced that raw veg, which was covered in salt for 24 hours, will be preserved enough in the sauce, but all the "additives" are preservatives....we will see!
